Louis Vuitton Purses – Are they Worth it?
Are Louis Vuitton purses really worth the money?
When you're trying to decide whether or not something is a good purchase, you need to assess that product's value.
And, no. I don't mean you need to estimate the street value of the materials used to make Louis Vuitton purses. Value is relative.
When making a sizable purchase, you can assess value by determining how buying that product will affect your financial standing.
Are you putting Lois Vuitton purses on a credit card?
Will you have to postpone the family vacation?
After spending thousands of dollars on a purse, will you have anything left to keep in it?
What are you Willing to Sacrifice for Louis Vuitton Purses?
If you have to make a sacrifice in order to buy something, you obviously can't really afford that item. In this instance, you have to decide whether or not the Louis purse is worth the resulting financial headache. This is exactly what I mean when I say “value is relative”. The value of a product is relative to the toll it takes on the consumer.
If you're affluent enough to drop mad crazy cash on Luis Vuitton purses, then by all means go for it. Unfortunately, this isn't a luxury most people have. If you're like most people, spending thousands of dollars on a product out of your price range would lead to a few sleepless nights.
So how does the average person go about buying Louis Vuitton purses without sacrificing sleep or a family vacation?
I recently took my amazing wife out for some afternoon shopping at the Galleria. While we were doing our thing at the mall, Mrs. Tam decided to pay the Louis Vuitton store a visit. Needles to say, she left that store with a designer bag in hand and a smile on her face.
Knowing how expensive Louis Vuitton purses are, my marketing mind started moving a million miles a minute….
Tons of different purses are sold at the Galleria mall. Why Louis Vuitton?
AND at what point did it become acceptable to spend thousands of dollars on a purse? At what point does that value translate to money?
After I thought about this more, I applied this thinking to my professional life. I actually get this all the time.
“Lawrence, why would someone pay you $25,000 for coaching?” Well, the answer is simple. It's a transfer of value.
I have the stones to place on a $25,000 price tag on my training because I am positive that my insight provides significant value. Value that can be absorbed and used to make far more than a measly $25 grand.
Obviously, Louis Vuitton felt like they had enough value to offer my wife, and plenty of other customers, in exchange for money. In other words, the company feels that their Louis Vuitton purses are valuable enough to slap a multi-thousand price-tag on. Considering the company's success, it's hard to argue with their business model.
Behind every action is some form of motivation. If you're looking for ways to make money on the internet, there is obviously a reason for it. Being fortunate enough to spend my afternoons shopping for luxurious items with my wife is one of my reasons. If I were still an engineer, there's just no way my wife would have walked out of the Galleria with a Louis Vuitton purse in hand.
When I was working as an engineer, buying expensive things didn't come without sacrifice. Buying my wife Louis Vuitton purses with my old income would have required us to cut back on vacations and going out.
Back when I was making a lot less money, I never would have thought trading thousands of dollars for a purse was a fair exchange of value. I didn't think any material item was worth sacrificing vacations with the kids or going out with friends.
Keep in mind that I still don't think it's worth it….
I just don't have the obligation of choosing between the two.
Are Louis Vuitton Purses Worth their Price-Tag? That's For YOU to Decide
Here's a perfect example of value being relative.
When my wife and I were in the Louis Vuitton store, there was another guy in there perusing expensive bags as well. Judging from the obvious context clues, I could tell that this guy was a Direct TV agent. He ended up spending $2,000 on a purse. Did he really think that was a fair exchange of value?
How does someone working a normal job pay that much money for a purse? Let's be honest for a second, guys. A purse is just a bag to carry stuff in at the end of the day. How can guy with an average income afford to go this far above and beyond the average retail price of a purse?
Just like any other profession, a Direct TV agent provides value and is willing to exchange that value for an income. This man was obviously aware of how expensive Louis Vuitton purses are. He's also aware of how much income he brings in.
Keep in mind that no one was holding a gun to his head and forcing him to buy a bag. This consumer, hopefully after a considerable amount of thinking, determined that this would be a beneficial purchase in some way or another. While he was clearly willing to throw down some hard earned cash on a bag, did he really do a good job of assessing value?
I continue to hammer home the fact that value is relevant. To me, assessing the value of something is more than just determining whether or not I can survive until payday.
Before making a sizable purchase, you have to think to yourself…
… “What will this product do for me in the long run? Will this product improve MY value?”
Louis Vuitton Purses and the Power of Leverage
I, admittedly, do not have too much experience in purse evaluation. But as an entrepreneur I can see how the sale of Louis Vuitton purses relates to my business. Providing value will always be a profitable practice
What I'm about to say applies to professionals in all fields of employment.
If you have a boss in any capacity, your employer is making more money than they are paying you. It”s that simple. This pretty much means that you are worth more than you are being paid. The difference is that you personally lack the leverage that an established business possesses. Therefore, your employer's position of authority allows them to low ball you. But what if it were possible to acquire this leverage?
Leverage is a incredibly potent weapon in the business realm. This is the exact weapon that allows Louis Vuitton to sell incredibly expensive purses.
Sure. The man I mentioned earlier may truly believe that using a sizable chunk of his income to buy a bag is reasonable. That's fine. He and I don't value the same things. We'll agree to disagree on this one.
In my mind, time is our most valuable asset. The more freedom you have, the more rewarding your time is. Trading your precious time for a less than stellar paycheck is no way to live.
Being affluent enough to buy Louis Vuitton purses is great. That being said, not having to work is far more rewarding. In the professional world, your assumed value is expressed in your salary or hourly wage. As an entrepreneur, I'm constantly learning and gaining personal value. This consistent self- improvement translates directly into money in the bank.
Climbing the ranks towards wealth in the corporate world is a difficult process that requires obligatory water cooler chats and office politics. The path to success as an entrepreneur in my industry is a much clearer one: Consistently focus on increasing your personal value. Doing so will provide you with the leverage necessary to get paid like you deserve.
An individual's attitude and mindset is almost always a reflection of the people they choose to socialize with. If you're constantly socializing with affluent people who can spend thousands on a hand bag without losing a wink of sleep, you'll start to understand that obtaining money isn't as difficult as it's made out to be.
It is always better to spend your money on products and services that provide you with personal value. Cultivating talents and acquiring skills are great ways to allocate your funds. This sort of transaction is an investment as opposed to a purchase. Consistently adding this personal value will allow you to say “goodbye” to the traditional job market and “hello” to Louis Vuitton Purses.
Working for an employer is old school. Traditional employees work traditional hours and are paid traditional salaries By learning marketable skills, you can establish your own stream of income. Your value and personal efforts alone dictate your earning potential.

Email Marketing Effectiveness Over 107% Open Rates
Email marketing effectiveness gauged by open and click throughs
Digest this image for a second
Live Webinar 9am CST (10am EST) November 27th, 2012 on Email Marketing Effectivness
So the image above breaks down my Aweber follow up series for a list with 415 active subscribers as of today.
This list was primarily comprised of youtube and facebook marketing methods done for free.
I was testing traffic sources and doing some testing if email marketing effectiveness was related to actual sources.
if you look at the numbers…. the first email has a staggering over 100% open rate… actually 107% open rate
Most internet marketers are looking for 10% open to a solid 20% open… not OVER 107%… that means I'm engaging my audience above and beyond to about 5x the norm?
Email marketing effectiveness starts with good copywriting and having a strong call to action.
How To Increase Your Email Marketing Effectiveness
So let's look at how to increase this…
- Start looking into who your target market is
- Put yourself in the reader's shoes and determine if what you are presenting is going to “solve a problem they have”
- Are you serving the community or just serving yourself?
Really ask these questions and it will help you get a good start to building a business online that starts with… you guessed it… readers.
Readers -> Prospects -> Customers -> Partners
The numbers aren't magical, just a evolving process to connecting with people at different stages of their life span.
What Are You Doing To Build Trust With Your Readers?
It's not rocket science and shouldn't be perceived like so.
But let's look at what happens if you have POOR email marketing skills and that is how you make your living.
Avg Numbers
- 1,000 readers
- at 10% open that is 100 readers clicking your email to open
My Small Test
- 415 readers
- at 60% open that is 249 readers clicking my email to open
Results
So even with less than 1/2 of the readers I was able to email less people but have more than 2x the amount of real people open my message.
The point you understand this is the point you know you don't need millions of readers to make a crazy full time living online…. or even a fantastic part time living online.
It breaks down to
How Many People See Your Message?
Be it to sell them something, to bond with them, to build a better relationship…. it's all based how many people can you connect with.
Driving pure traffic is awesome but you can be “AWESOMER” if you can actually get them to like, or even love your message 😉
Email Marketing Effectiveness Starts With Simple Tools
- One tool you will need is an autoresponder. I have a couple and the stats you see above are using Aweber. If you don't have aweber I would suggest you get it and start collecting data asap.
- Get a copy of Aweber here
- The next step would be to setup a capture system or a way to get emails into your database so you can talk to them over time using Aweber. The system I have been using solid for a year and have increased my database of subscribers by 16,000 readers used this capture system
- Get a copy of my capture page system here

Making Money On The Internet Starts With
LIVE Webinar Here November 13th, 2012 – 11:30pm EST
Can the average person be making money on the internet if they actually tried?
I've been online since 2007 and one of the common things I've seen that relates to online marketing is that people expect to be given the world without working for it.
I'm not saying everyone but when you have gone through literally thousands of people looking to make money there is a common theme….
Until I started to peel back the layers to see why this is.
Do you want to be Average or do you want to be making money on the internet as a career?
See there is the difference.
Most people come into internet marketing, like myself, to do it on the side and not take it seriously.
We are all busy, we have kids, a job, and a life.
We don't want to have yet ANOTHER stress point that we need to learn or be GOOD at.
But let's fast forward to what is possible on a long term focused effort…
Making Money On The Internet
Below is commissions from one of my affiliates. You can see the real time affiliate income disclosure where I am the #1 income earner doing it part time. Income Disclosure
Now I wanted to link to the income disclosures because I wanted to dive into why I have attracted and put so many people who just WANT stuff for free vs people who are looking for a career change or having the ability to change their financial situation part time.
You see…. making money on the internet is not a lottery type of hobby.
This isn't like scratching lottery tickets in hopes of winning big. The majority of lottery winners win it and lose it… why?
It's the mindset they have going into making that money.
Let's think of it like this.
-If the average person your talking to is used to having the government taking care of them
-If the average person is used to working an hourly job less than say …. $25/hr
-If the average person you market to is NOT saving for their retirement
-If the average person you are talking to is living pay check to pay check
This is just an example.
What I'm getting at is depending on HOW You market your business there is going to be long term effects to how your business grows long term.
If you continue to market your affiliate income streams to making money on the internet to people who are NOT used to hard work for long periods of time…. how can you expect they work a BUSINESS long term?
Think about it….
If you are marketing to hungry tech savy college kids who are looking to supplement their college allowances vs someone who works fast food and thinks the world sucks cause the most they will ever earn is $10/hr.
Pure affiliate marketing (selling services and goods) especially online should be targeted to those your want a direct result from.
- If your retailing a ONE time commissionable item you don't really care WHO you sell to as long as they buy.
- If your retailing a continuity program that pays you every month your looking for someone who will buy over time.
- If your retailing a program that has duplication and you make money from people earning income (like a network marketing company with multiple levels) then you will want to market to hard working people who have a “capacity to learn”.
I tend to market to the 3rd person.
See…. I run an affiliate program that actually pays me up front 100%, pays a top tier sale, pays a continuity sale (pays every month), and pays when people who buys form me duplicates and makes their OWN sales.
If You Are Making Money On The Internet And Not Making Over $10,000/month Maybe….
It is a function of you not targeting the right audience or not spending the right “time” with them.
I'm not talking about holding their hand but leveraging YOUR time to teach them without doing it one on one.
If you are looking to making money on the internet and especially if your only doing it part time you have to be VERY smart with your time.
Things to avoid:
- Do not sell your self short and talk to people to buy something for say $500 or less. I mean calling someone on the phone to buy something… and when I say $500 I mean what your commissions are…. not what the product sells for.
- Do not spam your people, prospects, and leads. doing this will only have you make money in the short term.
- Do not have a desperation model of marketing… if you don't know what this is… just look at HOW you approach your prospects and new leads in your marketing.
Okay… so your wondering what you SHOULD do if your looking to make money on the internet now…
Here is what I recommend…
- Value your time
- Treat people like people but understand the average person your marketing to is new but needs to be conditioned early on… example: don't tell someone who bought from you at $25/month that you are available 24/7….. are you worth $25/month for 10 hours on the phone?
- Connect with others who have been in the industry longer. You can learn a lot from someone who has been through the early growing pain stages.
So the question is: “Hey Lawrence, where can I start if I want to learn but I'm so new and on a budget?” For starters…
I would highly recommend you start to learn blogging (get your own blog for $25 so you can communicate to your prospects). My blog took me literally hundreds if not thousands of dollars and a CRAP ton of my time.
I say get to blogging here for $25 and NOT the free ones due to their TOS that can shut you down.
Why blogging?
I did a short get together with some of my partners here about blogging -> What Does Blogging Have To Do With It?
I want be able to cover all the benefits of starting with blogging to use it to making money on the internet but that is where I started back in 2008 when I got serious.
For now…. I highly recommend you clean the garbage out of your mind and get your thoughts, and intentions right.
If your mind is full of junk or your are WANTING to stay at your dead in job… your MIND will keep you there… don't believe me? Check out all of the people who have been making $25k/year for years and complain about it…. If you complain about something CHANGE it…
Especially if you live in United States… you can educate yourself OUT of a dead in job.. it might take time but isn't that better than hating life and telling that to your friends and family year after year?
Clear Next Step
Dive in with an open mind and get going to learning how to monetize the internet and starting to making money on the internet even part time like I do.
