Social Network Marketing defined by me is: A method to marketing that consists of using the validation of peers to build your business in network marketing.

Okay that might just sound like a bunch of words but network marketing traditionally is done face to face and offline. The explosion of the internet with Facebook marketing has allowed network marketers to jump on and find new prospects pretty quickly. The twist of using social network marketing is that the majority of the benefit is drawn from things you have no real control over.

Now this might scare some in not being able to control every aspect of your business but in the end you wanted to make money from your business vs run your business.

Automate Social Network Marketing

There is generally a big group of people who primarily dedicated their time in getting traffic with SEO efforts. Video and content marketing is a big part of Google's customer traffic and people flock to it so marketers are always trying to rank higher on the search engine position to snag some.

Then there are others that don't rely on the algorithm of Google so much but force the traffic by connecting with real people at social sites like Facebook. This is a good method since the screening is taking place while you prospect plus it's more immediate in terms of getting traffic.

Now, what if you could do both.

The key is being able to get some free organic clicks and also getting some viral love from your fellow peers in the industry. How is this done? Can it be done?

The answer to this is yes and a LOT of it can be automated. 😉

How Can You Automate Social Network Marketing?

One of the key factors is to understand you do NOT want to remove yourself from your core audience. If your selling services or products you need to connect. How can you do this if all your doing is self promoting?

Well, why not get someone to promote your stuff 😉

Introducing the Tribe

So essentially it works as a “scratch my back and I'll scratch yours”. This works only because you have like minded internet marketers who understand the need to get backlinks, viral exposure, and social network reputation. Social Network Marketing has evolved a lot over the last couple years after the great fall of Myspace into a spam/porn feast into what Facebook has done recently into being in almost every household world wide.

Social Network Marketing at it's roots is the ability to get your content syndicated without you doing it yourself. Self syndication is frowned upon when done in mass numbers but getting your content mass syndicated by many others is a great sign that your content is a viable addition to the community.

Guess who is taking notice?

Google is looking at the +1 indicators as signs of  “quality” content. Google is always testing different ways to check what makes something relevant as of today backlinks are king but social network connections and syndications are getting more important.

Social Network Marketing Experiment

After a month of testing and blogging I started to blog daily starting on May 5, 2011.

My goal was to see what would happen to my direct traffic and organic search traffic without using ANY backlinking services or outsourcing anything. I wrote my own material and posted it on this blog.

From May 5 to May 16th there was a 554% increase in unique visitors.

Those kinds of numbers make internet marketers crap their pants. hahaha.

So here is a graph from the last couple of days from my blog.

Take Note I hit over 1,000 unique visitors to my blog. This blog is no more than a year old with most posts being updated like 1-3 times per month. I've let it go since I've been concentrating on other properties I own but wanted to see what the deal was with social network marketing and how it can help me drive targeted traffic.

Is this for you?

Well there are only a couple of small requirements to work it the way I did.

1. You will need some time to clean up your on page seo
2. You will need to blog at least once a day with content over 500 words preferably
3. You will need to have some syndication outlets setup (just time and a little money)
4. You will need a self hosted blog – I host this blog here
5. You will need to research some Keywords
6. You will need to be a member of a Tribe
